Sting: Return of an Icon is a biographical DVD, focusing mainly on the life and career of Steve Borden A.K.A Sting. It was filmed in Sting's California home during July of 2006, and gives his candid comments on a wide variety of subjects, including his early years in the sport, the rise and fall of WCW, religion in his life, his family, coming to TNA, the future of the business as well as other subjects.

Due to the fact that World Wrestling Entertainment owns all of his footage from WCW, TNA opted to tell the story "that WWE cannot".

In addition, the wrestling legend offered TNA cameras a rare look into his vast collection of wrestling memorabilia, including never-before-seen photos and ring gear he has worn over his career.
